In an instant—everything changed.
 

Ok maybe not instantly but within just 24 to 48 hours, the guesthouse on our project underwent a striking transformation. Clad with new rough cedar siding, it quickly melded into the landscape, appearing as though it had always belonged. The once-fresh boards now bore a weathered look, hinting at years of history. Our project, designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, achieved just that - it felt like a natural extension of the property, rather than new construction. 

So, what's the secret behind this rapid aging? It's called Eco Wood Stain - a non-toxic, simple to apply stain and sealer that accelerates the aging process of wood, giving it a weathered appearance while protecting it at the same time. (Yes, you can now get it on Amazon). You mix it with water and brush or spray it on. An inexpensive yard sprayer works great…no need for anything fancy.

We're truly smitten with this product and find ourselves singing its praises time and time again. Mixing the old with the new has long been a hallmark of our designs, and products like this allow us to create an authentic sense of age in new construction projects.
